Activities at Amberley Hall  Nursery in Clifton, Bristol

Dedicated care for every child

With every child at our day care nursery allocated a key person, they will be responsible for all the child's day-to-day planning, observations, assessments and evaluation during their time with us at Amberley Hall Nursery. With a dedicated and caring member of our day nursery team, they will know your child in depth and be your first port of call should you have any queries.

We also have Circle Time as a whole group. Children can bring in interesting things from home to show everyone and then talk about them with the rest of the children. This promotes their communication, language and literacy skills, helping them to be more confident whilst encouraging them to wait their turn and listen to others.

In the new year, our Spanish chef, Lucia, will be doing easy Spanish lessons with the children.

Learning through play

None of these areas of learning can be delivered in isolation. They are all equally important and rely on each other to support a rounded approach to child development. All the areas must be delivered through planned, purposeful play with a balance of adult led and child initiated activities (The Early Years Foundation Stage – Statutory Framework).

Through our key areas of learning, we can provide an ideal foundation for your child's transition from nursery to school.

Parents are invited to an informal parents evening once a year. Your child’s learning diary is available at all times and appointments can be made at any time to discuss their progress.

Your child will be entitled to the LEA grant in the term after your child turns three. This is deducted from the monthly nursery fees – dependant on the number of hours claimed and up to the maximum allowed by the LEA.
